Getting Started with SagaMail

Download, install, and set up SagaMail on your Mac in minutes, including adding your first email account and exploring the basic interface.

Prerequisites

Before installing SagaMail, ensure your Mac meets these requirements:

  • macOS Sonoma (14.0) or later
  • At least 1 GB of free disk space
  • An active email account (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, or IMAP)

SagaMail is built natively for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) and Intel Macs.

Download and Install

Follow these steps to get SagaMail running on your Mac.

Download SagaMail

Visit the official download page.

Click the Download for Mac button to get the latest .dmg file (around 50 MB).

Install the App

Open the downloaded SagaMail.dmg file.

Drag the SagaMail icon to your Applications folder.

Eject the disk image when complete.

Launch SagaMail

Open Applications > SagaMail, or use Spotlight (Cmd + Space) and type SagaMail.

Grant permissions for full disk access if prompted (required for mail indexing).

Initial Setup and Add Your First Account

SagaMail launches with a clean welcome screen. Add your email accounts to start using the unified inbox.

Enter Gmail Credentials

Click Add Account > Gmail.

Enter your Gmail address and app password (enable 2FA and generate an app password in Google settings).

Authorize Access

SagaMail uses OAuth—no sharing passwords. Approve the permissions screen in your browser.

Customize account colors during setup for easy identification in the unified inbox. Supports up to 10 accounts.

Explore the Unified Inbox

Your emails now appear in a single, unified view. Key features at a glance:

  • Keyboard navigation: Use j/k to move, e to archive, # to trash, s to star.
  • Search: Press / for instant search across all accounts (sub-100ms on 100k+ emails).
  • AI Triage: Emails auto-categorized as urgent, actionable, or noise.

Try navigating: Select an email with j/k, then e to archive.
